Fueling the Future of Young Artists

What if you could help spark creativity in a child right here in our community?
For many young people, opportunities to explore the arts are limited. Some have never held a paintbrush, played an instrument, or attended an art class outside of school. Yet creative experiences can build confidence, encourage self-expression, and open doors to new possibilities.
That’s where Lark Youth Arts comes in.
Through community support and local art exhibitions, Lark Youth Arts provides scholarships and summer art classes for children who may not otherwise have access to creative programs. Every exhibition becomes more than an event — it becomes an investment in a child’s future.
When local artists share their work, the impact reaches far beyond the gallery walls. Sales from exhibitions directly support youth arts education, and all commissions help fund Lark Youth Arts scholarships and student programs. These contributions help provide art supplies, instruction, mentorship, and meaningful creative experiences for young artists in our community.
Creativity has the power to transform lives. A single class can inspire confidence. A single lesson can uncover talent. A single opportunity can change the direction of a child’s future.
Lark Youth Arts believes every child deserves the chance to create, imagine, and grow through the arts.

Lark Youth Arts turns creativity into opportunity.
Lark turns creativity into opportunity- ida mae

Growing up in Mississippi I was mentored under the tutelage of Andrew Lark, who taught the importance of mastering value, contour, and composition seen in modern artists like artist Charles White.
As a young artist, I always understood that my creative journey was a process that included research and developing my own philosophies about contemporary art. I study materialism so that each painting is a unique journey with the foundation of modern realism. There is no one single answer to an artistic problem. Each work of art will bring a different perspective and I hope to use painting as a tool to manifest my ideas.
My own art reflects the pedagogy of learning through exploration. My time in the military and my Southern roots are common themes in my art. I create art that holds a mirror to modern-day female warriors to create a space where both formalism and historical reflection convene. Each biographical depiction highlights historical customs and document changes within the armed forces. The collection of female veterans will be shared on an international scale to document the female faces of warfare and pay reverence to their dedication.
