IDA MAE

WATERCOLOR

Hi I’m Ida Mae,

Well sugar, let me tell you what I believe in. I believe in stayin’ curious as a cat. I love to find simple joys in life, like sun tea on the porch and knowing in my bones that less really is more.

My start with art? That’s a story of a penpal and a whole lotta love. The credit for that goes straight to my mother. She wrote me letters as a girl, I grew a powerful fondness for writing and drawin’. That careful, thoughtful exchange between us, that became my cornerstone.

Today I am a full time artist and professor of arts. A really important lesson came to me from teaching. It taught me to be thoughtful and curious about people. I hope to share my love of art with everyone, you can catch a little glimmer of that in any class I teach.

P.S. You can read all about my classes in my blog post: [ click here].
